Marrakesh, the dunes, Fes (3 days)

Time required: 2 nights and 3 days

Day 1: Marrakech/Boumalne Dadès.

Outside Marrakesh, getting over the Tizi’n Tichka pass (more than 2,260 of height), we start to catch a glimpse of the desert.

First stop, the ksar of Aït Benhaddou, UNESCO World Heritage site, natural set of the most Hollywood films. Second stop, Ouarzazate, where it is possible to visit the Atlas Films establishments. The next destination is Boumalne Dadès for the overnight.

Day 2 – Boumalne Dadès/Merzouga

The second day, we leave to Merzouga, one of the desert doors; on the way we meet the Tinehrir with its suq and silver chasers, and the Todra Gorge. We spend the night in the  desert in a tented camp, under a starry sky, at the foot of the Erg Chebbi, the highest dune of Morocco Sahara.

Day 3 – Merzouga/Fes

The third day, we leave to Fes crossing the Middle Atlas mountains and Midelt, to climb towards Azrou and then Ifran, named “the Switzerland of Morocco”. We arrive to Fes in the evening.


1. Marrakech – Aït Benaddhou crossing the Tizi ‘n Tichka pass (2.260 m), Ouarzazate. Overnight and dinner at Boumalne Dadès.
2. Boumalne Dadès – Merzouga – dunes.
3. Merzouga – Midelt – Ifran – Fes. Arrival to Fes in the evening.
